Responsibilities | Requirements
As part of a small team, you will be responsible for ownership of your scope: the manufacturing divisions. The SAP BW Developer’s (Backend) primary responsibilities will be to develop, create, monitor, and schedule (where appropriate) the necessary BW – business objects (e.g. InfoObjects, ODS, InfoCubes, InfoPackages, InfoSources, Datasources, Extractors, Transfer Rules, Update Rules) in a BW 7.x environment.
We’re looking for someone with strong analytical, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Examples of recent projects that you will support, along with many others, include:
- Providing COGS info/analysis
- Building out info provider for inventory metrics
- Purchasing info provider
- Enhance SD info providers
You will be responsible for working with analysts and business users to translate functional specifications into technical specifications ensuring a comprehensive design, then configuring and coding, testing (including documentation of the results) and on-going customer support of the solutions.
The SAP BW Developer must also have the ability to work closely with functional analysts, BW team members, basis and the business. As a key member of this team, you will have the opportunity to learn many aspects of the business as well as the SAP data warehousing systems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or business related major is a plus
- 3-5 years experience with SAP ABAP Development -must include BW Development
- SAP technical certifications a plus
- Experience with BW 7.x and 3.x environments
- Experience with SAP ECC
- Experience with BW BPS is a plus
- Business Objects is strongly desired
- Has developed and supported reporting in the Sales and Marketing areas
- US citizen or permanent resident only
