Description – PeopleSoft Human Resources Systems Manager – Not a Travel Position!

As the HR Systems Manger reporting to the Senior Application Manager, you will manage a team of 6 HRIS professionals. You must have familiarity working within or closely with the HR department.  Your role requires working functional and technical knowledge of the PeopleSoft platform with the ability to comfortably navigate within the application, perform tasks and engage with both the team and stakeholders to make informed procedural and system-related decisions. You will drive HR systems project implementation, prioritize  projects and provide input into the company’s overall HR Systems architecture strategy and planning.

As the Human Resources Systems Manager, you will be responsible for linking technology improvements and HR process improvements in areas including Global Compensation and Payroll, Global Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Strategic Workforce Planning, Global Employee and Manager Self Service, and Employee Performance Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

As the HR Systems Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of all HR systems (including PeopleSoft, LawCruit, viDesktop, and Enwisen) design, security, information flow, delivery, tracking, compliance and administration
  • Leading efforts on global implementations of HRIS, Payroll and Human Resource software applications and solutions
  • Heading up HR system implementations and upgrades for PeopleSoft, self-service, etc
  • Managing the system testing, data conversion and implementation of new/upgraded systems and processes
  • Conducting business analyses of current HR systems and processes to identify gaps
  • Consulting with internal customers to determine needs and requirements and develops solutions for delivery service improvements
  • Utilizing business analyses and recommending process design and requirements for new or enhanced systems that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes. Success will be measured by internal client satisfaction
  • Partnering with IT, Finance and related vendors for HR systems
  • Identifying end user training needs and developing necessary technical training programs to meet these needs
  • Serving as a liaison between functional business owners and technical teams to translate business requirements and HR systems inter-dependencies
  • Designing and delivering reports for HR Metrics
  • Managing project plans, status updates and other internal communications in cooperation with IT’s program management office
  • Ensuring the streamlined operations of the team
  • Coaching, mentoring, motivating and supervising team members and influencing them to take positive action and accountability for assigned work
  • Setting performance objectives for team members; develop and deliver performance assessments against these objectives
  • Identifying and resolving any issues and conflicts within the team\
  • Determining and assessing the need for additional staff and/or consultants and taking the appropriate steps to submit requests for them
  • Working with other department managers as resources are required from within their teams
  • Defining project scopes, goals and deliverables that support firm goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Estimating resources and participants needed to achieve the goals of assigned projects and initiatives
  • Overseeing and monitoring assigned projects in the firm’s tracking system
  • Drafting and submitting budget recommendations, including tracking actual performance against budget for responsible areas, technologies and projects
  • Building, developing and growing firm and business relationships vital to the success of projects and initiatives
  • Negotiating contracts with software and service providers
  • Acting as a liaison with company’s software suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies
  • Reviewing and analyzing existing applications’ effectiveness and efficiency, subsequently developing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Researching and making recommendations on software products and services in support of the firm’s business objectives, providing advice based on finding
  • Ensuring that any new software integration into company systems meets functional and end-user requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Installing, configuring and deploying new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.

Education and Experience – Requirements, Preferences

Education

The role requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Basic working functional and technical knowledge of the PeopleSoft platform.

Experience

Required

  • 10 plus years of progressive HR, Business and/or IT experience

Preferred

  • 5 plus years of focused PeopleSoft functional and/or technical experience
  • 5 plus years of personnel management experience
  • 5 plus years of experience in a multi-site environment with international offices
  • 5 plus years of progressive business experience managing technology budgets and vendor relationships
  • 5 plus years demonstrated success in HRIS software upgrades, configuration and HR process improvement

Knowledge

The PeopleSoft HR Systems Manager must have:

  • Proven project manager skills in large scale enterprise technical deployments
  • Solid customer service focus
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Working technical knowledge of database principles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Technical and/or business/project management certifications a plus
